It’s hard to talk about ‘Alt-Country’ without sending a nod Jason Ringenbergs way. Forming the band Jason & The Scorchers in 1981 they quickly became pioneers within the genre (that didn’t really exist until Wilco and Jayhawks arrived in the early 90′s). Three albums later the band fell apart – or as the band themselves claim, “we fell apart”.

Jason went on to continue as a soloartist until in 93 the band got back together, not only under his own name – but also under the more hillbilly moniker – Farmer Jason. Since then his both solo careers run parallell with Jason & The Scorchers and in september last year – the band was awarded the American Music Association’s Lifetime Achivement in Performance Award. However, on this Swedish visit it is as a soloartist we’ll see Jason perform.
